This week we had our cake sale planned every year by the PTA. We thank them. This week Year 5 and 6 bought in cakes we sold them for 50p but we got a free one so we didn’t mind bringing them in. We didn’t think we would have enough cakes but we had so many we had a sale on friday too!

On Monday it was Remembrance Day.
First we had a assembly. Next, each year group did a different activity.
In year three we drew poppies and coloured them in and wrote sentences about them (Maxson).
In year 6 we read In Flanders Field and tried to understand the imagery. We thought about how the poem made us feel. (Jacob)
Year 4 went to the Cenotaph and took along a wreath they had made.

Today we have researched about the jobs kids want when they are older. The year groups that helped to do this were from the years two to six. We had quite the selection of jobs, the most popular jobs were a footballer, doctor, nurse and singer.
We are going to contact parents about our favourite jobs and see if there are any volunteers to come in for our careers day in March. Next we played a game were you have to guess what the job is. Then we played a game where you take a card with a job on it and match it with other types of cards, there were blue, green, and purple cards which had what the job entailed, skills needed and qualities required.
On Wednesday the 18th September we gathered as a Department for our first meeting. During this time we heard who, from our members, wished to be considered to be our Minister, Deputy Minister and Clerk. Each candidate gave a short speech, votes were cast and we elected pupils to the posts.
From left to right: Our Minister, Deputy and Clerk. Congratulations all!
This Senedd Department considers communication in our school to be between all stakeholders: pupils, teachers and staff, governors, the parish and the wider community. We wish to develop communication between these groups. Hopefully, this Blog will help us achieve our aims. We are also responsible for introducing the concept of the world of work across the school.
